The history

Explore the timeline for discover the fundamental steps for the development of AEB Technologies.

AEB Technologies’ history is based on people, ideas and passions. At the beginning of the 80’s, Ivan Paterlini and Vincenzo Baroni became pioneers in a sector that would later experience unlimited development.
Passion motivates them and ingenuity sustains them. They both carry out different jobs, but share common values and the same passion: engines.
Working together on the mechanics of natural gas-powered cars, they understood that this type of engine, with so much potential, lacked something to get it off the ground: a simple way to convert gasoline systems into natural gas systems. Ivan and Vincenzo are clever, creative and persistent.
They studied, designed and experimented until they invented a revolutionary device that made gasoline to natural gas conversion easier: the timing advance processor that changed the world of alternative fuels for cars. They fine-tuned it, patented it and, confident about the future of their invention, decided to manufacture it. AEB was therefore founded in 1984, a company that has evolved but maintained its original characteristic intact: always leave room for new ideas, ingenuity and everyone endowed with the latter.

Today the company has grown: AEB has become AEB Alternative Fuel Electronics, the primary division of AEB Technologies, dealing on international markets with four product brands in totally different sectors. Investment diversification was not just a shrewd strategic decision; it was the logical pursuit of a line of conduct, a deep-rooted philosophy.

If there is an idea and it is a good idea, we must make room for it.

The “good idea” for a new production project came in 1999: Eighteen Sound, a division that designs and builds professional speakers. Thanks to a highly specialized product, Eighteen Sound is currently playing a main rule in its sector, supplying components to the best worldwide acoustic system manufacturers for Touring and fixed installation.
In 2003 the new idea was to put know-how, acquired through the research of new automated production technologies, to work in a completely different, booming sector. The AEB Robotics division was born, which develops and produces industrial automation systems.
An internal collaborator also provided an idea in 2003 for a new project that became the company’s fourth division: Aquatronica, which manufactures electronic control systems for aquariums and environments characterized by the presence of water.
In 2006, AEB Technologies has taken a new important step. AEB Alternative Fuel Electronics products will be also be made abroad. AEB America, the new production plant in Argentina, was inaugurated. Its fundamental objective: to promote our emissions control technology using alternative fuels throughout Latin America as well, a market where our products have been burdened by a severe protectionism policy.

On July 2010 AEB Technologies became part of Landi Renzo SpA, a worldwide leader in alternative fuel conversion systems for the automotive industry. The strategic reason for the acquisition is AEB’s specialisation in high technology electronic applications for LPG and methane engines, with focus on the After Market sector.
Landi Renzo has confirmed its desire to enhance the development of all AEB Technologies business units, to adhere to its original mission to strive for excellence.

The company is growing, its goals are increasingly ambitious, but the “strength of ingenuity” is still there, the vital sap supporting all those involved in this evolutionary process.
